i would prefer to follow the way and practices of salaf and mohammad ibn Abdulwahab because they teaches the true practice of Islam according to the Hadiths and Quran. but i would avoid to call myself as salafi, wahabi even hanafi, shafi etc. that is because the munafiqoun and the anti islamists and are looking for every gap to distrot islam by creating sects and devide muslims. remeber, that the term WAHABI was never intended to be used by Ibne Abdulwahab himself. but when the ahlul bida'h saw that the teaching of tawheed as a risk to their benifits, they created the term WAHABI, this way they tried to distort the teaching of that great scholor of Islam. we should follow the teaching of our great scholors but we should call ourselves Muslims because thats what our beloved Prophet (pbuh) called himself, A MUSLIM.

Salam,
Brother Bilal I need help with 3 small queries please help.
Does point no 5 on the following short article mean that it is it haram to sell goods online i.e via an e commerce store?
<a href="http://www.bakkah.net/articles/fiqh-conditions-buying-selling.htm" rel="nofollow">http://www.bakkah.net/articles/fiqh-conditions-buying-selling.htm</a>
Also I have purchased your grammar made easy book online yesterday and and I was wondering does this book deal with sarf? nahw? or both?
And finally I am interested in buying your Islamic studies series but there seems to be different editions of it. There is one set which comprises of 4 books and other sets which have 3 books.
<a href="http://search.store.yahoo.net/cgi-bin/nsearch?query=islamic%20studies%20bilal%20philips&catalog=talkislam&x=0&y=0" rel="nofollow">http://search.store.yahoo.net/cgi-bin/nsearch?query=islamic%20studies%20bilal%20philips&catalog=talkislam&x=0&y=0</a>
<a href="http://www.saifmodesty.com/Products/?search=1&keywords=bilal%20philips" rel="nofollow">http://www.saifmodesty.com/Products/?search=1&keywords=bilal%20philips</a>
Could you please point out which is the latest edition that I should buy?
Jazak

wa alaykum salaam. I advise to and your friend to flee from this "shaikh" the way you would flee from a wild lion. His claims of using or obeying good jinns is enough to know he has deviated. This was not the way of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his leading followers and companions. As to the hadeeth, it is true that the Prophet (pbuh) did say in reference to pointing the finger strongly in tashahhud, that it is stronger against Satan than iron. That is why, we should point firmly during tashahhud in our prayers, and we may also move the finger slowly while pointing to the Qiblah, as it lets people know that we are still praying and prevents them from walking infront of us (as satan encourages people to do). This has not been forgotten at all. May we all live and die on the Taweed of the prophets.

Please note brother Sadeq, that I do not hesitate to refer to myself as being "Salafi" where it is understood that Salafi means one who follows the Qur'aan and Sunnah according to the understanding of the early generations of righteous Muslims (called the "Salaf" in Arabic). And if that is what is meant by "Wahhaabi" then I'm also wahhaabi - though I don't call myself by that name as it is a distortion in Arabic. I don't, as you said, call to any particular sect, group, or movement, but to the understanding of Islam as I mentioned above.

I'm sorry that you are unable to grasp the difference, and that your false claim of "consensus" has deluded you into thinking that all views besides the one you hold are wrong. Sh Nasiruddeen Al Albaanee made that distinction himself in lectures I heard live with my own ears. Where there is legitimate jihaad and the leader of the Muslim forces calls for volunteers to take on a suicide mission in order to win the battle, to protect the main forces from the enemy, etc., it is legitimate. You will find that many of the scholars who have prohibited it in general, will also agree on this specific point.

@nurfatima: Please tell us. What is your problem with islam? There is only one God, his Prophet sas, halal and haram. So whats the problem here? You can not customize islam for yourself. Islam is already perfect.
