Al hamdulillaah. I’m back in Qatar from the UK where I gave the khutbah of Jumu’ah and a lecture on Caliph Abu Bakr in Islam Bradford Islamic Da’wah center and a lecture at the Camden Center in London on Saturday on “Are we prepared?” and another on Sunday on “Lessons from the Battle of Uhud”. I also recorded a Q&A for Islam Channel (TV) and was to record some programs also for Iqra TV Channel, but time didn’t permit. However, during this period the Islamic Online University did the finishing touches to the BA in Islamic Studies program and rolled it out on the 27th of February – Allahu Akbar. Five days later we already have 380 admissions being processed – Subhaanallaah!!! For those who don’t already know, please go to the website and register ASAP as we do have cap on the total number of applications that we will accept for this semester, since it is our first.

First of all i want to thank Allah that he gave you the knowledge to teach Islam in the way you do it and i want to thank you for your work. May Allah reward you with all that you wish for yourself and the people you love. Before i started watching your videos and listening to your mp3s which i downloaded from islamway.com all i knew from islam was what i knew from my parents and what what the 5 pillars of islam are. I love to read the book Muhammad by Martin Lings but i am afraid that there are some mistakes in it. On p.37 of the german version it says Amina felt a light in herself and one day she saw it in front of herself and it was showing the castles of Bostra.
On p.38 it says a voice spoke to Amina:”You have in your womb the leader of this people….”
I remember that you said in one of your Videos “science of hadith” that this is not true…so i am asking myself whether i should continue reading this book. Maybe Lings refered to Hadiths which are “thaif”.

Martin Lings’ biography is very nice reading in English, but as you have noted, there are some weak and fabricated narrations included in his text. If you are reading the German translation, I would suggest instead that you read the Sealed Nectar.

salaam alaykum brother. Today was the last day for registration in the BA program for the Fall Semester. You may register for the Spring from tomorrow, however, classes will not start until March of 2012.
You can join the diploma course at any time by simply going to the website (www.islamiconlineuniversity.com) and enrolling and take as many courses at a time that you wish. You may study completely at your own pace.
